Château Lys de Bessède is led by Merlot (60%) with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc (20% each), from vines averaging 40 years old, on a property whose immediate neighbours are the famed Château Pavie and La Gaffelière. Selected by Schröder & Schÿler, the Bordeaux merchant house founded in 1739, it shows a bright ruby colour, red-fruit aromas and a supple, velvety, well-balanced palate.
