Costa di Giulia Bolgheri Bianco 75cl
€13.11 inc. VAT
A white wine with the nerve to be born in red-wine country. Michele Satta made Bolgheri’s first Vermentino in 1984, and in 1997 added Sauvignon Blanc to give Costa di Giulia more character, structure and a broader finish. The blend (70% Vermentino, 30% Sauvignon) ferments slowly at very low temperature, then rests about six months on fine lees in steel. Expect citrus, peach, melon and mint, with a salty, sea-breeze note, a touch of honey and a creamy, lingering finish. Lovely young with seafood, it also gains complexity with a few years in bottle. Coastal Tuscany, poured.
