Nero di Troia is one of Puglia’s most characterful native grapes, and Talò shows it at its elegant best. Grown in the Alta Murgia on clay-rich soils and harvested in mid-October, the wine spends six months in French and American oak. The result is a vivid ruby red with violets, cherries and blackberries, spiced with coriander, black pepper and liquorice, and a toasty hint of tobacco and cocoa. Firm but refined tannins and fresh acidity give it structure and good ageing potential. Serve at 16-18°C with ragù, lasagna, braised veal or a grilled steak. The name Talò thanks the growers’ families who tend every vineyard like their own garden.
