Experience the authentic taste of Sicily with Azienda Agricola COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria. This organic and biodynamic red wine is a blend of Nero d'Avola (60%) and Frappato (40%), reflecting the unique terroir of Vittoria in southeastern Sicily. Expect a vibrant ruby-red colour in the glass. The nose offers a captivating bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, and subtle floral notes, characteristic of the Frappato grape, intertwined with the darker fruit and spice of Nero d'Avola. On the palate, this Cerasuolo di Vittoria is medium-bodied, displaying a delightful balance between fresh acidity and smooth tannins. The juicy red fruit flavours persist, complemented by hints of Mediterranean herbs and a delicate minerality. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in large Slavonian oak botti and then cement, this wine showcases purity of fruit and minimal intervention. This is a versatile wine perfect for pairing with a range of dishes, from pasta with tomato-based sauces to grilled meats and vegetables, as well as pizza. It also stands up beautifully to richer dishes, and matured, hard, cheeses. This is a fantastic showing of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, the only DOCG in Sicily.
