The Barbera d`Alba is the most traditional wine from Piedmont. The grapes come from vineyards with calcareous-clay soil. This ensures the wine an excellent structure and bestowns it with a vigorous but balanced personality. The grapes, picked by hand, are quickly taken to the cellar, destemmed and softly pressed. Its aroma is fresh, with fruity notes that are reminiscent of blackberry, red fruit jam and spicy notes of vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. Its taste is full and pervasive, with a touch of tartness that gives the wine freshness and fragrance. The oaky note is sharp but well blended with the other aromas.

Marchesi di Barolo Peiragal Barbera d’Alba 2021 75cl

Peiragal is an old word in dialect that refers to hills with highly compact soil composed of clay and limestone. This type of soil absorbs a limited amount of precipitation, so that the roots go down very deep looking for moisture which rises by capillarity from the lower layers. As a result, the vine produces loose-packed bunches and, therefore, quite a structured wine with moderate acidity and balanced alcohol content.[su_table responsive="yes" alternate="yes" fixed="no" class=""]
